This is a great community event with residents out to cheer on the runners. All participants enjoy roadside refreshments and a free lunch donated by the Walker House.
Funds raised go to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, to the Saugeen Track Club and to Rotary projects in the community. Last year’s contribution to the hospital foundation was $22,000, and over $150,000 since its inception. The top 10 fund raisers share in $1000 worth of gift certificates redeemable at local merchants.
Pick up fundraising forms at Southampton Hospital, Port Elgin Chamber of Commerce, The Fitness Corner, Lakeshore Recreation, Active Soles and from local Rotary club members.
Runners
Registration 8:00 – 9:30 Start 10:00 am
This is a class A race accredited by the Ontario Roadrunners Association. It is a beautiful course along the lakeshore, with no elevation changes. There are 5 km and 10 km races for various age groups (male & female) and a 3 km race for 14 and under. Your entry fee includes a complementary Tshirt. If you collect pledges in excess of $35, you will run free of charge. Upon request, your race time will be sent to Ontario Roadrunners. To enter, complete a Huron Shore Run Entry form and take it to the registration desk.
Avoid line-ups and preregister for $30, a $5 saving. Drop off a completed entry form with a cheque at Active Soles, 606 Goderich St., Port Elgin until June 2 or come to the Southampton Rotary Hall, Grey St. Southampton, 7 – 9 pm, Friday June 3.

Roller Bladers
